‘The greatest wealth is health’ – Virgil (70BC-19 BC) Roman Poet
Health is a gift of life.
It’s good to be grateful for our health to continue to receive more health.
However, the best cure for the body is a quiet mind.
True healing happens on an emotional and spiritual level first and then moves out into the physical realm.
So remember to ground and centre yourself often and bring yourself home.
Give yourself permission to enjoy yourself and unwind and relax as though you were on vacation and turn your home into your own retreat.
‘People look for retreats for themselves, in the country, by the coast, or in the hills.......There is nowhere that a person can find a more peaceful and trouble-free retreat than in his own mind......So constantly give yourself this retreat and renew yourself.’ - Marcus Aurelius
Mental clarity and an ability to focus are two natural traits of whole-self health and healing.
Relaxation should occupy a prominent place on your daily to-do list because you deserve to take your time and care for yourself – even during life’s busy periods.
Promoting this type of easy-to-discern wellness within yourself takes no special effort outside of satisfying your hunger with nourishing, wholesome foods, drinking plenty of water, quiet time, restful sleep and moving your body. Which all allow the self-healing process to flourish.
When you nurture yourself you regain your peace of mind and equanimity.
I do this with a 20 minutes meditation early morning – when it is quiet and peaceful - and early evening. Evidently meditation is more restful than an hour’s sleep. I also come up with some of my best ideas during meditation – so I have a handy notepad and pen with me.
A walk in nature improves our peace of mind, our sense of wellbeing and our connection with the natural world - which again is very healing and joyful.
‘Joy is one of our most essential energetic nutrients.’ ― Amy Leigh Mercree
Self-healing is the end of conflict with yourself however it takes time, practice and love.
The sooner we heal our traumas, the sooner we liberate ourselves from the hurt........ forgiveness is very healing.......self forgiveness is essential for self healing.
It frees us to move ahead with greater peace and ease. We all make mistakes – if we didn’t we would never learn and grow. Forgiving yourself is letting go and allowing the flow of well being to move through you unrestrained.
So let go of any negative emotions that are holding you back and keeping you stuck. Often we experience energy blocks in our body because our body is trying to tell us something. Tapping (EFT - Emotional Freedom Technique) can help clear any energy blocks in the body.
Shaking your body is a powerful way of diffusing tension. Animals do this when they are stressed. Just shake yourself all over and shake any stress off your body. This works.
Your body is talking to you all the time. Listen to your body – silence has many answers.
You should feel amazing every day. So check-in with yourself, be present and focus on feeling good in mind, body and spirit.
Scheduling fifteen or thirty minutes of time each day for your spiritual needs can make you feel tranquil, give you more energy and allows you to feel more in touch with the universe.
‘The body creates health daily. It is inherently self-healing.’ - Christiane Northrup
Stop anything that you perceive to be bad habits and you’ll eventually build a neural pathway to the brain that will just naturally say no to the bad stuff.
Remember everything is energy – including ourselves. What you want is energy. So set your mind to a fit healthy body and you will begin to attract that energy to you. However vision alone, although important, can’t accomplish all by itself. We must take action on our dreams.
The words we use carry tremendous power too. So get clear and say what you want out loud. When we speak of what we want using positive abundant words and phrases and repeating them often, as in affirmations, the universe will hear you by opening up the channels to greater health or/and wealth.
‘Words are powerful and your mind is listening.’ - Marissa Peer
However we instinctively listen to far more than words.
Facial expressions and body language can be far more important; and can convey a purer kind of truth than the words themselves.
Remember the spiritual essence of your life calling is within you and that includes your health.
You can co-create with the universe your heart’s hopes and dreams. You just have to believe in the potential for your body to heal itself.
Then step back and let it happen.
Namaste.
‘The body is a self-healing organism, so it’s really about clearing things out of the way so the body can heal itself.’ - Barbara Brennan
